If I Were the Director of the World Health Organization....
Like the US public school systems I'd require children to receive the chicken pox vaccination twice. At the age of 6 months and 4-6 years as most pharmacists and doctors recommend. If you didn't get the shot during this time, i'd still make it a mandatory thing when you go to the doctor. Adults with this virus, face more dangers than children. Before the Vaccination was introduced Chicken pox was extremely common in the US. In the 1900's before the vaccination was dispersed there was an average of 4 million chicken pox cases every year. In 1995 the vaccination was accepted in the US. ever since the vaccination was created approved the rates of chicken pox have dropped exponentially. IN the United states over 3.5 million cases are prevented every year, thanks to the vaccination. Varicella declined 82% from 2000 to 2010. Soon this once extremely popular virus wont even be spread across the states. I would want every country struggling with chicken pox to have these same success rates. I believe with the two doses of the Varicella vaccination rates will drop and no longer will children of the 21st century contract chicken pox. While some do get chicken pox even with the vaccination this is still unlikely, so overall commanding children get these shots would be the best solution to reducing chicken pox cases.
